This all-mountain freerider is a fantastic fun ski to conquer the most challenging conditions the mountain has to offer. It's super responsive and very lively to make your day a blast whether you are challenging the hills on a pow-day or ripping groomers or hard pack.
Its versatile 96mm waist includes Elan's unique Amphibio profile which combines camber with free-floating rocker at the tip and tail. Did I say these Ripsticks are super fun and lively to ski?
Your legs feel fresh all day. These skis are among the lightest weight skis on the market with super edge holding capabilities.
They will float on soft powder, hold an edge on hard pack and very playful in the trees. I get lots of compliments on these skis whether on the slopes or waiting in line for a the chair lift. Elan built the Ripstick with a TubeLite Core that includes a responsive, stable wood center and stiff fiberglass laminates to improve torsional rigidity at each turn. Also unique to Elan is the Ripstick's SST construction, which makes the ski easy to repair and difficult to damage thanks to durable sidewalls that direct power to the ski's edge and resists blow-outs so a sharky rock doesn't prematurely end your day. I liked these skis so much I have 3 pair, 2 Ripstick and 1 pair Ripstick Black. I combined these skis with Marker's Griffin Bindings. In my opinion, this ski/binding combination compliments each other very well (both in style and performance). These skis have been kept inside at all times when not on the slope. They've been waxed every outing and wiped down after a great day of fun then put back in the house.
The bottom sheet has new wax from the end of last year and not used this year at all. I've skied this particular ski 3 times, it was my back up set. The top and bottom sheets are in great shape with very light tip chatter marks on the tips (I've taken a picture of the very light tip chatter). Bindings are mounted to a Mongo 27.5/318mm size ski boot with plenty of adjustment available either way.
